FAQs: Austin Baby, Child, Pregnancy Photographer
What does Luz del Alma mean?
Light of the Soul, in Spanish.
How far in advance do you book photo sessions?
This varies by season, but typically at least a month in advance. Contact us as soon as possible for scheduling maternity and newborn sessions, since timing is critical! For maternity sessions, 34 to 36 weeks is ideal. For newborn photo sessions, 3 to 10 days old is recommended. I do reserve time in my schedule for fitting these in, but as always for scheduling, the sooner the better.
How do I view my photographs?
Within two weeks of your photo session, you will receive a password to log in and view your proofs and a link to a private slideshow.
How soon will my prints be available?
Usually within three weeks of order payment.
Do you offer session images on cd/dvd?
You may purchase a cd/dvd with your session images for $250 after a minimum print order of $300. For all print orders over $900, you may choose either the session keepsake album with 5×7 prints or the cd/dvd with session images.
Do you recommend a studio or on-location session?
This really depends on your goals and ideas for our session. My studio is located on Bee Caves Road and has both an indoor studio set-up and an outdoor courtyard with stone work and trees suitable for outdoor portraits. We’ll decide on the location at the time of scheduling.
Will you help us select clothing for our portraits? Do you have recommendations?
I have a detailed information packet that discusses this crucial detail. If you have further questions, I’m always happy to help coordinate clothing choices by phone or email.
How long have you been in business?
I have been in business for five years. Yay!
Do you do family photos?
I’m always happy to do family photos as part of a baby, maternity, or children’s sessions. I don’t specialize in family photography but love to do family photos for clients, typically at the end of a regular session. My family portraits tend to be casual and fun, and never posed.
What about head shots, product images and other commerical work?
I have done commercial work for a few of my clients and would be happy to discuss this with you.
Do you ever photograph weddings, births, and other events?
While I have done these in the past, and enjoy them immensely, I generally don’t accept wedding or birth clients at this time. My children are young, and having a reliable and consistent schedule is important at this stage. I’ve been known to make exceptions, but please know that it’s very unlikely I’d be able to take these on until my children are older. Thanks for understanding!
